Announcing the first call out for the 2nd Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival!

Men, Women and Mixed teams are invited to the newest, loudest, most spirited event of 2008! There has already been interest from overseas teams from Australia and the USA!

This year’s Festival date is Sunday May 11, 2008, which is a three-day weekend with a public holiday on Monday May 12 (Buddha’s Birthday).

For those of you who attended the 1st Lamma Festival in 2007, thank you for your fantastic support and we hope that you will also attend this year.

At this year’s race, the Lamma Dragon Boat Festival is providing:

  • 500 metres of deepwater (fast) international paddling
  • Boxes of water for each team
  • Race Programmes for participants (advertising space available)
  • Minimum of three races per team
  • Marquees available to all teams
  • Food and Beverages (details to be announced later)
  • Toilets
  • Showers
  • Computer-technology finishing systems
  • Sunday evening beach party with music/entertainment
  • Cup and medal award ceremony
  • Free mooring space for junks along race course (with transport arranged from junk to shoreline)

Fees for this year’s race are:

  • HK$2,000 per team. Enrolment date closes on Monday April 7, 2008
  • Late enrolment fee is $2,500 per team after April 7.
